| You must understand the founders words in the 3/5th compromise.They did not use the word black or negro they used the word slave or free person.Why would you think they did not know what they were doing?Frederick Douglass,a slave that became a statesman at first thought that the Constitution was a document of slavery and was convinced by his liberal friends of that.He decided to study it for himself and afterwords discovering "This is a documant of freedom" If this man could understand this document why can't conservatives of today understand it.You can be so worried about being politically correct in losing the truth of our founders and belittleing their wisdom.The key word that is missed here is "slave".If they gave a slave full voting rights we would have had slavery for many many more years. Ask or read David Barton,the man has the original letters from the founders.Trust in the truth no matter what,do not hide from their words,and do not believe you have a bigger heart than they had. |
